Thing #16 Evaluation

Evaluation time for my 16 Things!

Photopeach is a website that allows you to tell your stories with photos. You can create a neat slideshow with ease incorporating music, captions and comments so you can elaborate on your story even more. Photpeach also has a premium upgrade for educators to use. Teachers can create and mange students accounts for a class or even an entire school. With a class premium account you can mange privicy controls, sharing and other features built in. It is also ad-free which is nice.

What were your favorite discoveries or exercise on this learning journey?
I think my favorite discoveries have been all the assessment tools and number of different websites and applications I can use. I really like the Quizlet Flash Cards for your smartphone. My least favorite was the school tube.

How has this type of program assisted or affected your lifelong learning goals?
My learning goals were affected in a positive manner in that I can take what I learned and implement these tools into my classroom to help my students learn while having fun and doing so at their own pace.

Were there any takeaways or unexpected outcomes from the exercise that surprised you?
I didn't expect there to be so many different resources/websites to account for the same premise. For example, Skype. There are so many more alternatives to use to communicate other than Skype. So many resources to use with technology in the classroom that I wasn't aware of. Kudos!

What could I do differently to improve upon this programs format or concept?
I don't think the program needs anything different. I would just keep up with the changes in the resources/websites that are included. I know a lot of the wikis are gone or going away and platforms and sites that existed a few months ago change, fold, or get sold. Keeping up with technology is always a task! Cheers!
