Thing #12 Discovering and Using YouTube

YouTube

You Tube is the go to site for watching videos of all sorts and collections. Subscribe or view videos, clips, TV shows, music videos, short and doc films, audio recordings, video blogging, movie trailers, educational videos and the list goes on. If there is every anything you need to know or learn how to do, there is most likely a video on the you tube that will show you how. The very 1st promoted video I found was this one below. I can't for the life of me understand why this yahoo has 61 million subscribers. If you have time to waste check it out but beware, I warned you.

A complete waste of time on YouTube here:

Some of the more interesting content and facts. Did you know that google purchased YouTube from 3 creators who had previously worked for PayPal? The three amigos put the site up and running in February of 2005 and sold it the next year to google for 1.6 billion. I wonder what they would have been offered by google a few years later? Amazing. I did find some good educational videos that would be helpful in the classroom. For my social studies 6th grade class I would use this animated series call Libery's Kids to help expore different periods in American History.
