Thing #11 Discovering Presentation Tools
Presentation Tools Prezi. Prezi is a very popular presentation tool that surpasses the typical boring yesterday power point slides. Slides box you in, prezi gives you a seemingly limitless canvis to illustrate your project from the big picture down to the fine details. The added depth, content, and detail of prezi presentations will resonate with your audience and be remembered.
I used the free educator version and picked out a templete. I've taken the background from a previous vector map that also had the US as a focus. I simply copied the world background and pasted it into a new prezi. Go to the downloadable prezis in the share tab and you should be able to find a templete just for you. The best part about prezi is the options are almost endless. You can add audio, video clips and even create animations shorts to go with your content. The selection of transitions is dynamic! The only downfall I found was the browser issue with google, for some reason prezi does not operate well in google chrome. I suggest using firfox or explorer/edge. Click on the link below to sample my Geography prezi for 8th grade.
Thing #10 Discovering Animation Tools
Animation Tools Powtoon is a website you can use to create pretty cool animated videos and presentations free of charge for the basic plan. Video and interactive sites are growing rapidly on the internet. From marketing and organization training, to HR and education this site is able to support any solution to your video making needs. The site is easy to navigate and there are several different levels to choose from.
You can start from scratch or create a video using a created template. I chose a pre-fabricated template over an assignment with the mission impossible theme. You can watch it by clicking Here! Getting into more detailed video or presentations can become cumbersome but they provide helpful learning videos to get you going. Overall I give this site an A. Enjoy!

Thing #9 Online Productivity Tools
Online Productivity Tools such as Zoho Docs and Google Docs are mostly free online cloud and software websites utilized to organize you or your organization fitting your needs in one website. You can store things online here, from documents to images, spread sheets to presentations, even much, movies and pictures. Of course all this storage comes with a fee after 5 GB of free space are taken. Some of the features I like on Zoho.com are the virtual drive- eliminating the flash drive or hard drive backup of important information. Size doesn't matter as far as importing files. Zoho virtual drive can upload all file types and you can transfer entire folders and sub-folders without scrambling the contents. I used the storage feature to upload a folder with pictures to enjoy here.
Another feature of this docs site I am fond of is the preventive steps they take to thwart data leaks. Having your personal documents online for the jackers and hackers to break into would be no bueno. With this feature you can customize your reports, find any file, and oversee data spread in the charts such as the one below.
